0 The Symbolism Of Civil War Flags

The heart and integral part of any warfare was the civil war flags. These are banners which were well colored depending on the colors of national flag of given countries, communities or kingdoms. Battles were eminent at any given point or time once a breach of respect does take place.

These emblems varied from one nation or kingdom to another. With each camp having its own, clear lines were drawn between the waring parties with a far look at things. Hence, this phenomenon has not been a recent thing. Its existence is thus dated way back to around the fifteenth century and earlier on before the occurrence of the First World War.

At this juncture, the soldiers would look upon the banner for motivation to continue with the battle till the end. This implies that it drew a strong form of loyalty in them to pursue not individual glory but the strong defending of territorial areas. Thus, this was a huge reason for having one at all times.

Besides, soldiers in the battlefield form camps for resting once they feel worn out due to the intensity of the weather conditions and the hardship in the vicinity which they endure. With this in mind, a flag when erected would symbolize the location of a camp thus enemies wanting to attack would be aware of that.

The marching of a parade also comes in handy. This is another symbol of the approaching guard. It is normally placed at the front the guard as the march is taking place. With a clear view, the approaching guard will be easily noticed and where they are from once the flag is noted.

In conclusion, loss of
civil war flags was seen as an act of disgrace and intimidation. Normally, the enemies would come for the flag as their first target when an ambush occurs. In doing so, it was viewed as a form of triumph in the other camps. Therefore, this was viewed as the most priced asset of great importance during fighting.
